My favourite evening walk

After a long day working on a research grant there is nothing like the walk through the forest from the Philipps Guest house around to Spiegelslust - around a one hour walk - to clear your head. Then home on the number 7 bus from Klinikum for Euro 2.15 and no validation required! Its going to be down to the wire with this grant but its shaping up nicely thanks to the feedback I received today from 8 colleagues. It took all day to rework the proposal to take account of their feedback but I now have a significantly improved proposal. There is nothing like writing a Marsden grant, where the success rate is so low, to really sharpen your science. You have to think of every possible question a referee will raise and preempt it by careful crafting of the proposal.
