More cycling in Potsdam

Yesterday we cycled to the Eastern side of Potsdam crossing the bridge that once divided East from West and stopping off at Belvedere aug den Pfingstberg and Schloss Cecilienhof, famous as the site for the Potsdam conference in 1945. After a picnic lunch we crossed to the island of Pfaueninsel which was the summer residence of King Frederick II.  With so much water around this is a city for boating. Potsdam is a great area for cycling with such large areas of open parkland with many Palaces and other historical buildings. Yvonne and Matthias were wonderful hosts. It will be great setting up a research collaboration with them to establish an Epichloe-grass symbiosis research program in Germany. Plus I will be back for more cycling.
